By partnering with Van Meter Electric of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Infinite Solar will offer a 3-hour information session, "How to Break into the Iowa Solar Market: A PV Primer for Professionals" October 1st, 2011. Hands-on activities include installing different racking systems, modules, inverters and other equipment on a mobile roof. Completing the course qualifies participating contractors for taking the North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals (NABCEP) certification test. October 24 through 28, Infinite Solar will conduct its "5 Day Solar PV Entry Level Design and Installation" class at Van Meter's facility to offer beginning solar installers a toehold in the solar industry and provide a refresher for more experienced solar installers. The course would also benefit plumbers, HVAC/R professionals, electricians, homebuilders/architects, contractors, engineers or product wholesalers/resellers. Attendees should have basic computer skills, familiarity with equations, fractions and algebra and the ability to safely lift 50 pounds. Solar PV Installation and Design Class expounds upon the fundamentals in design, installation, and evaluation of residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
